A beautiful sunny morning and the first run out since January! Despite the home pitches being unplayable, Chris managed to secure a much-needed game against the Westcliff development squad.

Team: Josh, Felix, Byron, Charlie, Jack B, Kenny R, James, Alfie, Dan, Jack C, Tom, Kenny B, Jake

Josh and Kenny R got straight into the tackling and Westcliff proved strong in their rucking. After a scrum to Westcliff, they quickly ran in their first try. Josh equalised straight from the kick off. Felix made an excellent push into touch; Kenny B made good ground, as always, allowing Byron room to score. James and Alfie put in some great tackles. With the Woodham scrum winning almost every scrum due to Tom’s fantastic hooking and Dan’s scrutiny as scrum half, the score was soon 3-0 as Dan made it over the line following another successful scrum. Kenny B and Josh put in some big tackles before a series of passes from Alfie to Josh to Byron made another try.

After a break, the scrum success continued, more successful tackles from Jack C, Felix, and Jake and another try for Josh and one for Charlie. Jack B made good ground before being tackled. One more break but still the winning scrums enabled Woodham success. One more for Josh and an amazing run from Kenny B to score another. Woodham attempted to put some great passing together to get the ball to the wing. Westcliff went over twice before some great teamwork ending in a pass to Kenny B who went over for another try.
